Local Divesites!

Recentely I've been asked by a local diving business (link will be provided as soon as the pictures will be posted) to dig in my photo-archive for pictures of divesites either above water or peculiar "seascapes" or marine life of that location...

that's what I came up with:

1) Phuket Shark Point (mid way between Phuket and Phi Phi Island) and its distinctive beacon to signal the northernmost point of a series of "dangers" (several  submerged pinnacles stretching south), here it is possible to dive in "fish soup" (so much marine life, overwhelming!!!)

2) Not so far from Shark Point, lies an underwater pinnacle covered in anemones (Anemone Reef), somehow off the beaten (diving) track (shark point has a more attractive name), this divesite features several leopard sharks that swam off SP due to increasing divers pressure...

3) The most famous wall dive in the area, Koh Doc Mai features plenty of macro subjects (nudi, frog fish, seahorse, ghostpipe fish), couple of caves and from time to time even WHALE SHARK!!!

Squirrel Fish holding eggs in its mouth!

4) Bida Nok and Bida Nai are two rocks protuding out of the water, located south of Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Lay, these 2 dive sites are among the best that this part of Thailand has to offer (Hard and soft corlas, black tip and leopard sharks, sting rays and loads of macro... if you're here for a quick check, make sure you get your treat by not missing these spots!

5) Several miles south, mid-way between Hin Daeng/Hin Muang and Phi Phi, there's a cluster of 5 islands (Koh Haa - Haa = 5 in Thai), some have chimneys, other have caves and sloping reefs, the most famous spot is the "twin cathedrals" (huge dome-like-shaped caves)

6) Racha Yai and Racha Noi (south of Phuket), clear water all year round, several boat wrecks, sloping sandy bottom framed by staghorn coral reefs the first and boulder the second, Jacks, Snapper, Cuttle fish and turtles the former, from macro to Mantas the latter!!!

soon I will add the missing sites (King Cruiser wreck, Hin Daeng/Muang and Phi Phi Lay/Don)

as for Similan and Myanmar sites, it will be posted in a separate dedicated entry...
